Will Chevrolet Sue?
Workers at Proton, Malaysia’s home-grown
automaker, accepted a challenge to build a motorcycle around one
of its front-drive powertrains. The 1,300 kg – that’s a svelte
2,866 lb. for the non-metric – motorcycle is powered by a
1.5-liter Proton Wira four-cylinder, can reach 200 kph (124 mph),
and even has a reverse gear.

Stan Palmer Sales in Carlisle, UK, has come up with a
unique way to promote Subaru’s new Legacy diesel. The dealer had
high-resolution pictures of the engine and driveline taken and
transferred to vinyl. These images were then placed on a Legacy
wagon to suggest the car had its panels cutaway and a clear hood
fitted.

200 Million Reasons to Settle
Stung by the strike raging at American Axle & Manufacturing,
GM has offered to pay the supplier $200-million to help with
employee buyouts in an attempt to end the strike. About 3,600
workers at five plants have been on strike since Feb. 26, which
has hampered production at nearly 30 GM plants.
