The Jim Russell Racing Driver’s School at Infineon Raceway recently held a competition where drivers could win a half-season of racing – a $41,250 value – in the "Jim Russell Racing Championship Series at Infineon Raceway." Another Type of Spin
Ford is adding a third wind turbine to its Dagenham, UK, engine plant to power the expansion of the diesel engine site. The new Duratorq TDCi 1.4/1.6-liter engines were recently added to the plants. Should the plant ever run short of hot air, a quick read of Renault’s Fernando Alonso Mégane F1 Team press release should remedy the situation.

Each month London’s Design Museum puts a new exhibit in the giant glass tank that sits just outside the building. In it, the museum puts items of societal significance so passersby can admire them as they head toward the Tower Bridge. Ford’s new Transit Connect is being used by Dallas, TX-based Bugatti Ristorante, a renowned Italian restaurant run by a man named Zee who is fond of the delivery van because its fuel economy, long driving range, and innovative storage system will help catering contribute more than its current 20% to the restaurant’s bottom line. Pity the poor 29 year-old Aston Martin engineer who drove James Bond’s car into Italy’s Lake Garda while delivering it to the set of the British superspy’s latest movie, Quantum of Solace. The car slid off a wet road, plunged into the lake and took its unconscious driver 150 feet to the muddy bottom. (View More)


Carefree? Not so much.
Volkswagen’s 2009 models will come with a no-charge "Carefree Maintenance Program." Under this plan, there are no charges to the customer for any of the scheduled maintenance outlined in the vehicle’s maintenance booklet for the length of the new vehicle limited warranty. (View More)


Yo Ma-Ma!
 This May 13, Honda’s ASIMO robot will conduct the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as it performs Impossible Dream with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. ASIMO also will demonstrate its capabilities for Detroit-area schoolchildren the following day. This is the second Detroit appearance for a musically inclined Japanese robot in recent months. This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ford’s Model T and the 40th anniversary of the launch of the European Escort.
