Chances are, when you think “Honda” something like this comes to mind:
Or possibly even this:
(Yes, we know that that is an Acura, not a Honda, but the NSX is going to be built in Marysville, Ohio, which is where Honda of America Manufacturing had its start back in 1982. What’s more, who really needs an excuse to run a picture of that car?)
Anyway, what about this:
That’s right, that is a Honda. Specifically, it is a 2015 Pioneer 500, a side-by-side. That means it can carry two people, side-by-side. (Clever.)
It has a 475-cc four-stroke engine. It is 50 inches wide and has a 73.1-inch wheelbase.
Last week, the Pioneer 500 went into production at the Honda of South Carolina Manufacturing plant in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The plant had a $27-million investment to facilitate the production of the off-road vehicle. The Pioneer 700 and Pioneer 700-4 models went into production there in June 2013. The plant has been producing ATVs since July 1998.
