Not Your Ordinary Olympic Swag

By: Gary S. Vasilash

15. August 2012

Here’s a souvenir that attendees at the London Olympic Games didn’t have a chance to buy with all of that other swag that they undoubtedly loaded up on:

The first “official” redesign of the Rolls-Royce badge since the company started in 1904.

The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Design Team came up with a new grille badge with the Spirit of Ecstasy with a Union Jack. The steering wheel center has the traditional laurel wreath and torch supplemented by the words “London 2012” and the Olympic motto: “Citius, Altius, Fortius.”

The sill plate reads “One of Three,” because there are three English White Phantom Series II Drophead Coupes that were hand-built in Goodwood. The three cars were part of the closing ceremony.
