Giants Continue to Roam the Earth

Although some people might think that SUVs are pretty much dinosaurs nowadays, according to the July “True Trend Report” from TrueCar.com, consumers are still rather interested in the vehicles, be they large, medium or small in size.

That’s predicated on a metric, “fewest days in inventory” for both cars and trucks.

The one that’s on the lot for the least number of days of any vehicle: the Lexus LX 570, the company’s full-size SUV. It’s on the lot for an average of just 12 days.

The Lexus is followed by the GM fraternal SUV (though I’m sure they’d prefer “CUV,” or crossover utility vehicle, as this category is more au courant) twins, the GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox, which are on lots for 14 days. Those two are followed by the Toyota Highlander and the Audi Q7, both of which are on lots for 15 days.

As Jesse Toprak, vp of Industry, Trends and Insights for TrueCar.com, put it, “The love affair with SUVs isn’t over yet; consumers just prefer they burn a little less gas and look pretty.”
