The 2011 Audi A8 and the GMC Granite concept vehicle were awarded top honors at the North American International Auto Show by the Eyes on Design jury. The awards, sponsored by Dassault Systemes, are based on the decision of judges from the design community. The A8 was selected as the best in design for production vehicles and the GMC Granite for concepts.

One notable aspect of the award to the A8 was the level of those in the running, which included the Bentley Muslanne, Fiat 500, Ford Focus, and Lincoln MKX. The Focus, in particular, had significant buzz during the media preview at NAIAS.
