Morphing made easy.

A new module for the simulation system LMS Virtual.Lab from LMS North America (Troy, MI; www.lmsintl.com) permits the transformation of finite element models into new models before complete CAD and associated finite element models become available. Part of Rev 4 for the product, the Morphing module is said to permit the engineering team to perform multiple analyses early in product development, thereby accelerating the process. In addition to which, Rev 4 also offers an Interior Acoustics module that links acoustic prediction with structural design: engineers can model the vibro-acoustic behavior of a vehicle body on the interior sound, such that there is the possibility of determining how modifications to such things as the roof or floor panels or even trim will change the sound.
