In our piece on the Yamaha Marine V8 in the April 2007 issue ( V-R-O-O-M! ), our first reference should have been more specific: It is the first 5.3-liter four-stroke V8 for outboard applications. According to a reader, a 4.0-liter V8 was produced by Outboard Marine in the ‘80s.
