Dodge Crew Sets 'Sale'

Not content to wait until the “For Sale” sign has gone up and the new buyer is in the home, Chrysler will move up the launch of the compact crossovers (codename: JC46) it’s building off the Sebring/Avenger platform.

Not content to wait until the “For Sale” sign has gone up and the new buyer is in the home, Chrysler will move up the launch of the compact crossovers (codename: JC46) it’s building off the Sebring/Avenger platform. Originally scheduled to debut at the 2008 NAIAS in Detroit, the Dodge Crew—the first of two new crossovers from Chrysler—will now launch in late-Summer 2007. The Crew will have a variety of powertrains, including a front-drive version powered by a 172-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions also will be available with Chrysler’s 189-hp 2.7-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic. All models will have fully independent suspension, a wheelbase of nearly 110-in., an overall length of about 200-in., and optional all-wheel-drive.—CAS
